ABOUT US

Kakaline foundation is a non-government organization with a major focus on children rights.

The organization works together with the community to support orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda. Most of the children we currently support come from Kagamba, Bugweri district but we also support children from various parts of Uganda.

We work with children living on the edge of society, children under sexual exploitation, street connected children, orphans, and vulnerable children in general. We tirelessly work to address the needs of vulnerable children and families as well as supporting vulnerable and needy communities in general by providing psychosocial support, rehabilitation services, education, skills development and community empowerment.

Everything we do is community centered and geared towards sustainability. Learn More through the rights-based approach and with an aim of providing care, support and protection of orphans and vulnerable children, we set up a rehabilitation home in Bugweri district, Kagamba village which has a potential of housing a sizable number of vulnerable children more so those living on streets.

The home has 3 Social Workers, teachers, vocational instructors, cooks, an office attendant and a watchman. The home also has a medic who provides check ups and other required medical supplies. All children at the home receive scholastic materials, casual wears and uniforms. Children receive the outdoor and indoor play facilities while at the home.

The teenagers at the home receive vocational training from qualified and accredited instructors and they are also equipped with entrepreneur skills to enable them initiate their own business upon completion. The young ones attend nearby schools and their tuition and other school requirements are fully catered for by the organization.

To enhance cognitive and social development of marginalized and vulnerable children through promoting programs on education, sports, skills development, creating safe spaces and environment, social security, mentorship and moral support.

Our belief We believe all children are equal and should enjoy all their rights as provided for in the constitution of the republic of Uganda and the International Convention on the Rights of Child.

We believe all children deserve a second chance regardless of their History every child deserves a descent shelter.

Project Emphasis creating child friendly spaces, Provision of basic education, vocational training, shelter and health care for Orphans and vulnerable children (OVCS) in Kagamba, Bugweri district and surrounding areas.

Our objectives.

To offer psychosocial support to counsel and rehabilitate marginalized children and avail them with basic education, knowledge and skills to enable them become useful citizens.

To help in the physical, cognitive and social development of marginalized Children to provide a secure safe environment for all children to play and enjoy their Childhood to shade light to the various key stakeholders on the social challenges resulting from ignoring the plight of marginalized children.

Our Activities Identification of Beneficiaries vulnerability assessment and enrolment of beneficiaries guided by the Ministry of Gender standards.

Admission of beneficiaries at our rehabilitation home Psychosocial support and rehabilitation of enrolled beneficiaries in our programs and at our home. This involves going through counselling sessions and team building and refreshing games. Placement of beneficiaries in schools, vocational institutions of learning and provision of scholastic materials.

Monitoring and following up on the progress of the beneficiaries in School supporting enrolled children to access of medical services.Home tracing and resettlement of reformed Children community sensitization workshops on child rights, child protection, education, health and nutrition.Community training on life skills and making of basic things such as sanitary pads, soap, candle, mushroom growing among others.

Supporting beneficiaries’ caregivers and parents with business and savings trainings and there after supporting them with income generating activities.

COVID and emergency responses Continuous monitoring and evaluation of all organization programs.
